Communications
I am the direct media contact for all eight of our sports at Northeast Community College. This includes all media inquires, press releases, features, bios, statistics, nominations for awards, a weekly booster newsletter, organizing all photoshoots, working with both the ICCAC and NJCAA, creating all game-day programs, promoting our teams and whatever else is needed by our entire athletic department. I also do all of our live stats, which Northeast Athletics does through Presto Sports.
As an NJCAA institution, we place a ton of value in our student-athletes transferring out and signing with four-year schools. When that happens, we try and make the occasion as special as possible for our student-athletes. I organize all of our signings and create graphics that our coaches can use in recruiting to show that Northeast is a fantastic stepping stone.

On April 23, 2024, Northeast Athletics unveiled a new athletic brand! This project was one of my proudest moments during my time with Northeast because I was able to carry out the vision of what many different people had worked meticulously on for over two years. We launched our new brand on social media and then hosted an exciting reveal in our student union (Union 73). We built tons of hype around this launch and I am extremely proud of how everything turned out.

Being our in our community and promoting our athletic department is something that I really enjoy. We capped our launch week by handing out stickers at four different local elementary schools in what was an XL version of our High-Five Friday Tradition!

Throughout my time at Northeast, I have also introduced new brand elements such as, "Hawks Win! Hawks Win!" and "Claws Down." These are phrases that were created organically by student-athletes and I capitalized on making them hallmarks of our athletic brand.

Our website, northeasthawks.com, had the most pageviews in its history during the month of April in 2023 and continues to set new records. I also assisted in the overhaul of our athletics website in January of 2024.

I received first place in the 2021-22 2YSIDA (Two-Year College Sports Information Directors of America) Publications Contest for creative writing for a piece on former Northeast baseball player Maxim Fullerton. The story can be found on the screenshot or by clicking the following link:

Our men's soccer team rose to No. 1 in the country in September of 2023! This was the first time that any program at Northeast had been ranked at the top of the polls during the NJCAA era. Here is the link to an interview that I coordinated with the premier news station in our area based out of Sioux City, Iowa:

Our men's soccer program rose to No. 1 in the nation again both in 2024 and in 2025!

Multiple different aspects of my job and Northeast come into play when developing our gameday programs for our home athletic events.
Here is a clip showing Northeast being named the top play of the day on November 15, 2023 by ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays! This was an incredible moment to share with our student-athletes. Edouard Nys, a men's soccer player at Northeast from Dottignies, Belgium, was not aware of the prestige that comes with being named the top play on SportsCenter, but he was thrilled to learn that he beat out LeBron James for the honor of the play of the day!
This goal occured during a match at the NJCAA national tournament and I worked with some connections that I had made during the event to make sure that this achievement was blasted all over social media. Not only was this goal historic for Northeast, but it also was a huge draw of eyes to the NJCAA's social media channels.

The play begins around the 2:15 mark of the embedded video above.

Here is a video of our student-athletes reacting to seeing the play live on ESPN in our hotel lobby for the very first time:

In 2023, I created the, "Hawks Win! Hawks Win!" wall at Northeast as a fun way to commemorate all of our victories. After a win, a student-athlete from that particular program signs, dates and places a sticker on the wall. Each sticker has a different color depending on if the game was a conference matchup, a playoff showdown, etc. Everyone who walks the halls at Northeast can stop and admire the sheer number of victories we have obtained throughout the school year.
Here is an example of a press release that I wrote when women's soccer player Erica Derby was named First Team Academic All-America. The press release can either be viewed by the screenshot or by clicking the PDF icon below:

Below is another press release from when Northeast Athletics hired new head men's basketball coach Josh Clark and what that looks like on the web. I was part of the hiring committee to hire Coach Clark and have had the privilege of being an asset to multiple different hiring committees Northeast, both on committees to fill athletics positions and positions for the entire college as a whole.

Below is a screenshot from our website that shows what the typical player bio looks like:

I am well-versed at covering all of our teams either on the road or at home, even if there are multiple squads that are playing at the same time.

It's extremely important to have the pulse of all of our teams not only to perform my job to the best of my ability, but also to inform others around the community and campus about what all is going on within our athletic department.

I also work with the ICCAC (our conference at Northeast) and the NJCAA to nominate student-athletes for awards and assist both organizations in whatever they need as far as photos, stats, quotes, etc.

Executive Director of College Engagement Lori Trowbridge puts together a week bulletin and I assist by selecting a Hawks Insider Athlete of the Week, which gives fellow students an opportunity to become familiar with student-athletes.
